Ongoing Maintenance

Ongoing Maintenance

Consistent, professional garden maintenance tailored to your property. NJR Landscapes keeps your landscape performing exactly as it should through every season.

ONGOING MAINTENANCE

Your investment protected.

A landscape that is not maintained reverts. The planting, the lawns, the garden beds and the structures that make a property exceptional require consistent, knowledgeable care to stay that way. At NJR Landscapes, we offer ongoing maintenance programs that treat your landscape as the investment it is, rather than as a series of quick jobs to be ticked off a list.

Our maintenance clients tend to be Peninsula property owners who have invested significantly in their outdoor spaces and want them cared for by people who understand what has been created and why. That requires more than showing up with a mower and a blower. It requires horticultural knowledge, attention to detail and the continuity that comes from working with the same property over time.

We maintain a range of properties across the Peninsula, from formal gardens at prestige rural homes through to large acreage properties with extensive gardens and surrounding paddocks. Some of these clients have been with us for years, and that continuity shows in the quality of the result. We know their gardens, understand their preferences and can anticipate what each property needs before problems develop.

Whether we established your garden or you have an existing property you would like us to take on, we begin every maintenance relationship with a full property assessment, understanding what is there, what it needs and how best to care for it through each season.

Everything your garden needs to thrive.

WHAT IS INCLUDED

Our maintenance service covers the full scope of ongoing garden care, from scheduled pruning and lawn maintenance through to irrigation management, plant health monitoring and storm response.

01

Scheduled Maintenance Programs

We design maintenance programs around the specific needs of each property rather than applying a standard template. The frequency of visits, the scope of work at each visit and the seasonal priorities are all determined by your garden, your preferences and the time of year. We document the program clearly so you know exactly what to expect at each visit.

02

Seasonal Pruning & Shaping

Correct pruning at the right time of year is fundamental to the health, shape and flowering performance of your plants. We prune to species-specific requirements, understanding which plants benefit from hard pruning, which need only light tidying and when in the seasonal cycle each type of pruning should occur. We do not apply a single approach to every plant regardless of species.

03

Lawn Care, Edging & Fertilising

A quality lawn requires regular mowing at the correct height for the variety, clean edging along garden beds and paths and appropriate fertilising through the growing season. We maintain lawns to a consistent standard, adjusting mowing height and frequency with the seasons and addressing any problem areas such as compaction, thatch build-up or moisture stress before they become significant issues.

04

Weeding & Mulch Replenishment

Weed management is most effective when addressed consistently rather than allowed to accumulate between infrequent visits. We remove weeds by hand and spot-treat where appropriate, keeping garden beds clean and preventing weeds from setting seed and compounding the problem. Mulch is replenished periodically to maintain appropriate depth, which reduces weed germination, retains soil moisture and keeps beds looking well-maintained.

05

Scheduled Mowing Programs

The most cost-effective way to manage a large property is through a consistent scheduled program rather than reactive visits when growth has become unmanageable. We design programs around your property's specific growth patterns and your preferences, visiting at intervals that keep your land in good condition throughout the year without unnecessary or wasteful over-servicing.

06

Plant Health Monitoring

Plants under stress show early warning signs that an experienced eye can identify before a problem becomes a loss. We monitor the health of your planting at every visit, identifying signs of disease, pest pressure, nutrient deficiency or water stress and addressing them promptly. For significant issues, we advise on the best course of treatment and coordinate with specialist arborists or horticulturalists where appropriate.

07

Storm Cleanup & Restoration

Peninsula winters can be demanding on gardens. Significant wind events break branches, overturn pots, deposit debris across garden beds and occasionally cause structural damage to trees or fences. We respond promptly to storm damage, clearing debris, assessing and treating damaged plants and reinstating the garden to its pre-event condition as quickly as possible.

08

Plant Replacement & Garden Refresh

Gardens evolve. Plants reach the end of their productive life, others outgrow their position and some simply do not perform as expected in a specific microclimate. As part of our ongoing maintenance relationship, we advise on plant replacements, coordinate supply and installation and suggest opportunities to refresh and improve the garden over time, keeping it looking current and performing well.

WHY NJR LANDSCAPES

Continuity and expertise

The quality of garden maintenance is determined by two things above everything else: the horticultural knowledge of the people doing it and the consistency with which it is done. A garden visited infrequently by a different crew each time will never perform as well as one cared for by the same experienced team on a consistent schedule.

Because we also provide landscaping, earthworks and property maintenance services, we understand the full context of the properties we work on. That means better advice, more considered scheduling and the ability to combine slashing visits with other maintenance work where it makes sense for your property.

Consistent, long-term relationships

We value continuity in our maintenance relationships. The same team on your property over time means better understanding of your garden, your preferences and what it needs through each season.

Horticultural knowledge

Our team brings genuine plant knowledge to every maintenance visit. Pruning is done to species-specific requirements, plant health issues are identified early and the right intervention is made at the right time.

Tailored programs

We do not apply a standard template to every property. Visit frequency, scope of work and seasonal priorities are all tailored to your specific garden and what it actually requires.

Integrated capability

As a full-service company, we can coordinate larger works alongside your maintenance program, from irrigation repairs and tree removal through to garden refreshes and new planting, without engaging additional contractors.

Frequently asked.

COMMON QUESTIONS

  • We tailor programs to each property, so there is no fixed pricing structure that applies universally. After a site assessment, we recommend a visit frequency appropriate to your garden and provide a clear written quote for the annual program broken into individual visit costs. Most Peninsula properties we maintain are visited fortnightly or monthly during the growing season with less frequent visits through winter, adjusted based on what the garden actually needs.

  • We take on existing properties regularly and welcome the opportunity. We begin with a full property assessment to understand what is there, its current condition and what the ongoing care requirements are. This allows us to quote accurately and build a program that is genuinely suited to your garden rather than applying a generic approach.

  • For clients on an ongoing maintenance program, we remain available for contact between visits. If you notice something that needs attention, you can reach us directly and we will advise on whether it can wait until the next scheduled visit or whether an earlier visit is warranted. For urgent issues such as storm damage or a significant plant health concern, we respond as promptly as our schedule allows.
